My love affair with cannabis began in my early 20's when I started experiencing intense panic attacks and major depression. My doctor had me try a slew of antidepressants. None of them really worked. My friend Misty told me to start coming to her house and she would "smoke me up." Maybe I wouldn't need pills anymore. She always had the best buds and my anxiety attacks lessened. Around the same time I was diagnosed with endometriosis, a debilitating disease that affects a woman's reproductive system. I underwent my first surgery at 19. The doctor perforated my colon and sent me home bleeding internally. A team of doctors saved my life and I spent another two weeks in the hospital.
